The aircrafts that WestJet uses have advanced technology implemented within them. WestJet has an average fleet age of 5.6 years. WestJet has had several different aircrafts some retired and others still in use.  WestJet’s retired fleet was the Boeing 737-200 and its current fleets are the Boeing 737-600, Boeing 737- 700 and Boeing 737- 800.

WestJet’s retired fleet Boeing 737-200 was used from 1966. This aircraft was a short to medium range, twin-engine, narrow-body jet liner. It had the capacity to fit anywhere from 25 passengers to 215 passengers. The assembly of this aircraft was in a factory adjacent to the Boeing field, and production was then moved to Renton in late 1970.in 1988 the production for the 200 series was put to a stop after production of 1,114 aircrafts. This was one of the early aircrafts that was used by WestJet, but is no longer used.

WestJet’s current use of aircrafts includes the Boeing 737-600, Boeing 737-700, and the Boeing 737-800. These aircrafts are referred to as the next generation aircrafts, because of their advanced technology. These aircraft's are short to medium range narrow body jet liners. These have been in production since 1996. These Boeing 737 crafts fit 110 to 210 passengers. The interior of the Boring 737 next generation craft is incorporated with select features of the 777 style interior. On July 20, 2011, Boeing announced plans for a new 737 version to be powered by the CFM International LEAP-X engine. These aircrafts are still in use by WestJet, and are of great provision with the advanced technology for function, safety and comfort.

WestJet uses one of the best aircrafts to ensure that its guest get the satisfaction of traveling that they desired. Its use of the Boeing 737 series will continue and they will continue using new editions to the Boing aircraft's.
