Environmental commitment

WestJet is very actively involved in environmental commitment. It is committed to making the planet a better and greener place to live. WestJet is involved in creating a greener place for us while being both in the air and on the ground.

WestJet’s committed to providing a greener planet even while being in the air. In order to operate the aircraft the fuel that is burned to do so in return releases greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. WestJet invests in fuel-efficient jet crafts, in technology and procedures that maximize operation efficiency and safety, in infrastructures, and work well with government agencies to further drive operation efficiency. WestJet is also knows for having one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in North America. The fuel efficiency and emissions for their next generation aircraft are fifteen to thirty percent lower. In order to reduce fuel consumption WestJet is installing winglets. And so WestJet is environmentally committed through the process of being greener in the air.

WestJet’s committed to providing a greener planet while on the ground. For WestJet facilities it uses ways through which it can be greener. WestJet’s focus to being greener on the ground include the use of less water consumption, it uses water tanks to catch water from rain to use for landscaping. WestJet is conducting external geothermal piping; this is being done to access and store heating and cooling energy from the earth. It uses heating, ventilation and air conditioning that are more energy efficient. WestJet incorporated the “right to light” philosophy so that all employees would have access to natural light.  It uses construction material based on which is more recyclable. WestJet’s environmental commitment is also demonstrated through its goal to be greener on the ground.

WestJet is very environmentally committed and this is demonstrated through its goals of being greener in the air and on the ground. It takes great measures to accomplish its green effect. What do you prefer WestJet can do in order to be greener?
